Data Scientist

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and analytics, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. While mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data, this person will be relied on to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing the data’s full potential. The data scientist will play a key role in shaping the future decision making of our organization by extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets.

As Data Scientist, you will report to the Director, Enterprise Applications. Additionally, you will work closely with the senior members of the IT team and across the organization.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Plan, design, develop and maintain data architecture and models for data integration projects in Microsoft Fabric

Collect, Analyze and interpret data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.

Create dashboards and reports to visualize key insights that empower stakeholders across different teams within Learfield

Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with business leaders

Implement ETL processes to extract data from diverse sources, transform it into suitable formats, and load it into the data warehouse or analytical systems.

Identify and create new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities, and work closely with the infrastructure team in the development of data products

Execute analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domains and industries

Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy

Required skills and qualifications

Six or more years of experience in data analytics

Data architecture, design, development, and implementation, using cloud technologies for large scale data solutions.

Strong understanding of statistical methods, data modeling, and predictive analytics.

Experience with PowerBI, SQL, and programming languages (ex: Java/Python, SAS)

Experience working with APIs

Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple concurrent projects

Outstanding communication skills and collaboration capabilities

Strong design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Preferred skills and qualifications

Ability to architect solutions using Microsoft's data, analytics and AI solutions and in particular MS Fabric

Hands on ADF, Azure Databricks, Datalake and Power BI experience

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics, applied mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline

Professional certification (Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate)

Objectives of this role

Design and build net new data warehouse for internal BI use

Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to develop an understanding of needs

Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis

Develop reports and dashboards for stakeholders

Communicate findings to all stakeholders

Enable smarter business processes by using analytics for meaningful insights
