We are seeking a talented Data Scientist II to join our team for a 6-month contract, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the economic planning and operation of our multi-commodity fuel & power portfolio and regulated thermal and renewable generation fleet. _Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance._ _Rate: $60 - $70 / hr. w2_ **Responsibilities:** **What You'll Do:** + Automate data flows and develop mathematical models to generate actionable insights. + Optimize the economics and reliability of our assets through advanced analytics. + Present models and insights to both technical and business audiences. + Manage and optimize large data applications, both on-premises and in the cloud. + Author technical documents and create compelling visualizations for diverse audiences. + Develop interactive dashboards and reports to enhance data-driven decision-making. **Experience Requirements:** **What We're Looking For:** + Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, SAS, or R, with a preference for MATLAB and Python. + Experience with time series simulation methods and related analysis (PCA, ARIMA, etc.). + Practical knowledge of probability distributions, stochastic processes, and tail risk estimation. + Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical subjects to varied audiences. + Experience with regression, machine learning models, and mathematical optimization techniques. + Familiarity with utility, power, gas, oil, or coal industries is a plus. + Experience managing data in traditional and cloud databases, and developing dashboards in tools like Qlikview and Power BI. + Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA. **Education Requirements:** Bachelor's Degree, preference for Master's Degree in Math, Economics, Statistics or related fields _Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate.
