Data Scientist - Director
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Data Scientist - Director to join our team. Located in New York, this role will be pivotal in managing a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts, while also directly involved in data processing, analysis, and visualization efforts. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Guide and cultivate a team of data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists, fostering a positive, engaging environment conducive to high performance • Oversee the handling, cleaning, and processing of raw data to generate large, structured datasets for analysis, data modeling, and data governance • Steer statistical analyses from both macro and micro perspectives, with a solid understanding of Regression and Classification methodologies • Supervise the execution of ad-hoc “what if scenarios” and simulations based on models, and assess media plans • Direct the creation of reports, data visualization, and presentation building • Collaborate with internal teams across BI, Buying, Planning, and Digital Investment to deliver integrated client deliverables • Drive R& D initiatives using algorithmic modeling, deriving new features, QA or providing training and support to power users • Apply critical thinking to identify issues, solve problems, and improve processes • Translate business issues into mathematical expressions and equations • Ensure timely project delivery, producing analyses and content that is clean, organized, and easy to read and understand • Use data and analyses to tell compelling stories; persuasively communicate insights to internal stakeholders and clients • Ensure satisfaction of internal stakeholders and clients • Support new business initiatives at the agency level, expand the Advanced Analytics client portfolio and upsell services to existing clients. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a data science role • Proficiency in data science, data analytics, data cleansing, and data processing • Experience working with raw data and structured data • Skilled in data modeling and data governance • Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel • Programming skills in Python, C++, R Programming, and SAS • Experience with Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, and Power BI • Familiarity with machine learning technologies • Director-level experience is preferred • Strong leadership and team management skills • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically • Exceptional communication and presentation skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously • Proven record of managing large scale projects and driving results • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
