Position Overview:

Data scientist provides support in making strategic data-related decisions through rigorous statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and a deep sense of curiosity that drives extensive data exploration. Leveraging diverse internal and external data sources, this role is focused on uncovering hidden patterns and actionable insights that optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency in healthcare. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the candidate is expected to conduct in-depth experimentation, build prototypes, and establish best practices that foster a culture of exploration and discovery. Additionally, this role requires the ability to clearly articulate complex findings and translate technical results into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that insights are accessible and impactful across the organization.

Prior experience in healthcare data analytics is highly desirable, with a strong preference for candidates who have served as Epic EMR report writers or build analysts.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Computer Science, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Mathematics, or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years recent relevant experience.



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Proven ability to rationalize disparate data sources and the ability to intuit the insight from within a dataset.

Understanding and implementation of predictive / analytical modeling techniques, theories, principles, and practices.

Familiarity and experience with data preparation and processing – such as assessment of data quality, new variable creation/selection, etc.

Able to interacting with technical experts and leaders at all levels within the organization.

Self-starter, able to independently identify and complete critical tasks with minimal supervision, complex data, and dynamic goals.

Verbal and written communication skills are an absolute requirement.

Demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver on multiple projects concurrently.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Knowledge of healthcare clinical care and business processes.

Pay Range is $58.95 to $88.43 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
