The anticipated salary range for this role is between $158,000.00 and $190,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role DescriptionAdvise business unit leads on standards and practices dictating the input and utilization of corporate data, and support the development of procedures necessary to implement policy. Audit corporate data sources to confirm data accuracy and quality. Plan and manage data storage structures focused on eliminating data redundancy and integration of data systems.
Role Objectives: DeliveryAdvise business unit leads on standards and practices dictating the input and utilization of corporate data, and support the development of procedures necessary to implement policy. Create documentation such as data dictionaries and relational tables that dictate the structure and linkage of data within the organization, and approve updates and changes. Audit corporate data sources to confirm data accuracy and quality. Run and analyze reports on compliance with data standards to inform updates to the firm's policies and procedures. Plan and manage data storage structures focused on eliminating data redundancy and integration of data systems to prevent siloing of data.
Role Objectives: InterpersonalPartner with compliance colleagues to audit data retention and access policies to ensure they meet regulatory standards and conform to corporate risk management guidelines. Collaborate with IT systems and database administrators to design data structures that meet objectives for security, integration and retention of data. Work with business unit leads to establish data input and usage policies and procedures. Coordinate training of employees in the correct application of data standards. Engage with application development team to create tools and automate processes that ensure data accuracy, apply correct standardization to support data integration, and create systems to enable efficient querying and use of corporate data.
Role Objectives: ExpertiseDisplay comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices for data governance. Demonstrate advanced expertise in data storage systems, integration tools, quality controls, and data management strategies. Possess understanding of corporate data sources, implementations and business operations utilizing data systems to inform the recommendation of best practices and standards. Exhibit ability to coordinate data initiatives across multiple teams to ensure adherence to best practices and meet data governance objectives.
