Data Validation Manager

The Manager, Data Validation is responsible for the design and delivery of the MAST data validation process for all brands within the Carnival Corporation.  This data includes order & maintenance history, master data, ship inventory, and budget information essential for overall analysis and gathering of insights into realizing major benefits to the company.

This key role will provide SME knowledge and ensure the consistent execution and reporting of progress to all program stakeholders. 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Maritime Asset Strategy, this role will be responsible for managing data quality assurance, tracking delivery of tasks on-time during ship deployment delivery schedules and managing a team of technical resources and analysts. 

Job Functions:

Define, develop, deliver, and improve the process for ensuring the quality assurance of MAST data during the ship database build phase of the MAST Program   Oversee the end-to-end data validation process for core, reference and transactional data which includes. Receiving and action data queries from database build partners; Designing validation test cases and ensuring they are executed in line with the process; Reporting test case outcomes; Working with internal stakeholders to review test case outcomes and get Brand SME input as required Manage team tasks and schedules to support ship deployment production go-live phases which require validation & testing of scripts provided by internal developers and 3rd party vendors Manage internal resources and 3rd party vendor teams in validating ship database builds in alignment with the project plan ensuring adherence to data quality standards Manage and monitor tasks in the Project Plan using MS Projects or equivalent to track progress and identify dependencies with other projects and initiatives Manage and provide coaching to team members. Conduct performance reviews for each direct report and be able to communicate effectively on potential areas for improvement Communicates and presents team status to program stakeholders and brand representatives regularly Identify and drive improvements in processes or technology and feed these back to the Senior Director for alignment and implementation      Work alongside Subject Matter Experts, Project Leads, Brand representatives and external partners to gather business requirements, document decisions and execute/report on results. Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent Years & or Area of Professional experience: 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.  5+ years of data analysis experience.  Experience working with large datasets and data analysis Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills: MS Projets, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Jira, Devops Licenses/Certifications:  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) upon hire preferred.  Microsoft Office Specialist:  Excel Associate upon hire preferred.  Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher upon hire preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Expert analytical and problem-solving abilities.  Strong communicator in all forms across all levels of the organization

hysical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 

Travel: No travel

Work Conditions:  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift.  Position requires supporting multiple brands withing Carnival Corporation in different time zones and locations.  In some cases there may be a need to support ship deployments during off hours/weekends.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday.  Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
