This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in a one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, CO, DC, GA, HI, MD, NY, OR, VA, or WA.


Department Description:


The Membership Data Warehouse is the System of Information for Reporting and Analytics Data across the Enterprise of Kaiser Permanente.   Our team uses Informatica Power Center to perform Extract, Transform and Load from source systems to our Oracle Exadata Warehouse platform.  We acquire the data from multiple sources, we harmonize the data into easy-to -use tables and views, and we create extracts that go outside of our firewall to Vendor partners.  We also assist internal Cloud and other Information Technology teams to pull data into their systems. 



Intern Project(s):


Revamping website and writing Data Literacy documentation
Analyzing and profiling data to perform engineering tasks under the guidance of a Lead Engineer. 
Report, Dashboard, and/or Extract creation. 


Target Majors:


Math/Statistics; Data Science; Computer Science



Target Skills:


End-to-end Data Warehousing understanding
Oracle Database understanding, Exadata usage preferred
Informatica Power Center familiarity
SQL query scripting language used to interrogate and learn from data

Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated with a Bachelors degree from an accredited university within the last year.License, Certification, Registration

Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

3.0 GPA or above
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
Required skills:  Excellent analytical skills, experience with database programming, know SQL, experience or knowledge of Unix.  Any Oracle Data base
