Job Description:
The Data Warehouse ETL Developer is responsible for the Development of Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) routines for moving data from internal and external operational systems into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for reporting and analytical users. The EDW is housed on a Netezza Data Warehouse Appliance. Candidate must work closely with other development teams--like Data Modeling & Database Administration--and business units to design and implement appropriate software solutions to meet business needs and ensure timely delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate will be expected to have familiarity and experience with standard development methodology including the ability to create and maintain design documentation, as well as implement and deploy data warehouse solutions. Candidate will not only be expected to perform unit testing on ETL logic they develop; but to contribute as well to validating other developers' logic at times.
Must have solid skills in devising efficient database queries in Structured Query Language (SQL) and have a firm understanding of relational databases. Position needs trouble-shooting skills on standard platforms (e.g., MS Windows or UNIX/Linux).
Required Skills: 3-4 years of experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to retrieve data from relational database
Must have Informatica
This team uses Informatica 9.1 - Power Center/Power Exchange as the ETL tool and they are a mixed environment of Windows and UNIX/Linux. they will eventually move everything from Windows to Linux.
