The Database Administrator III (DBA) is a key resource in providing technical leadership and support on all the stages of database architecture, implementation and database-related operational support.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Installation and configuration of new databases instances when necessary, and conducting upgrades and patch applications when appropriateDesign, implement and maintain database security based on company policy, best practices and any regulatory requirementsProvide solutions to development teams when proposed architecture does not comply with architectural, performance or security guidelinesResolve database performance issues using all available tools and take corrective actions when necessaryWork with the development teams to ensure a solid understanding of the application and database requirements exist and configure database structures and parameters accordinglyCommunicate to business customers, technical teams and management in a consistent manner making complex technical issues and solutions clear, simple and understandablePossess overall understanding of IT architecture, infrastructure standards, database platforms and programming languages and toolsGo-to technical resource as it relates to database physical data storage, maintenance and securityDemonstrate a thorough understanding of Data Management philosophies and apply them to existing and to-be architecturesAbility to produce clear documentation around reoccurring processesForward thinking, proactive approach to monitoring all databasesAbility to provide accurate resource and capacity planningManage backup and disaster recovery plans for all databases WHAT WE NEED FROM YOURequired:
3-5+ years of experience in database administration in a clustered/high-availability environmentSQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 or above Database Administration and ManagementProven track record managing multiple database instances simultaneouslyExperience administering mission-critical transactional and decision support databases requiredExperience with SQL Server High Availability technologiesExperience with SSIS and other ETL application supportExperience with setup and maintenance of SQL Server transactional and snapshot replicationProvide after-hours support when necessaryBS or BA degree in computer science or information technologyPreferred:
