We are currently seeking a Database Administration-Microsoft SQL Server-CORE- Database Admin Specialist Advisor to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems. The main goal is to ensure the availability and consistent performance of various corporate applications. 

Job Responsibilities: 

- Dedicated DBA Resource(s) to support databases in Client specific environments per Client direction. 

- Database Management: Implement, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.  

- Designs and implements database security policies and procedures, verifying accuracy and availability of data and conducts 

- Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and server performance as per Clients security policies and procedures. 

- Backup and Recovery: Set up all needed database backup and database maintenance jobs (index maintenance and database-level integrity checks), and monitor these jobs. 

- High Availability: Maintain and troubleshoot high availability/DR techniques such as clustering, database mirroring, log shipping, and failover. 

- Security: Ensure database security, roles, and profiles are properly managed. 

- Monitoring: Establish monitoring, backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes. 

- Collaboration: Work closely with developers to architect database solutions and provide support for query tuning and schema refinement 

- Documentation: Provide comprehensive documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, enhancements, and standard operational procedures 

- Provide feedback on tasks including alignment with DBA skill-sets, validation of requirements, best practices, estimated effort and time to complete.   

- Provides on call support  for databases supported related to system outages and scheduled process failures – For P1 incidents only 

-Provide database-related troubleshooting to address database poor performance issues. 

-Maintain information  on database servers operating in the Client data center 

-As available, attend team meetings where database requirements are being discussed (i.e application installation meetings and technical evaluations of proposed new data bases).  

- Support Timing: Provide 24/7 support for critical production systems and perform scheduled maintenance. DBAs will start the shift at 4AM EST and will complete their shift by 1PM EST providing reasonable hours of parallel run and off hours support will be provided for P1 on call basis. 

 

Qualifications: 

- Experience: 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role 

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL Server Administration, Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), backups, restores, recovery models, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. 

- Certifications: Preferred certifications include MCITP, MVP, MCTS, SQL, MCSA, MCDBA 

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

- Skills: Strong sense of ownership, pride in performance, and ability to work effectively with IT teams.
