Job Requirements: · Manage and administer AWS RDS databases, including configuration, and monitoring of instances. · Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and regular maintenance tasks. · Establish and enforce database security policies, including user access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations. · Utilize AWS monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, RDS Performance Insights) to monitor database performance and health, responding to alerts and issues as they arise. · Evaluate and implement solutions for scaling databases based on application requirements, ensuring optimal resource utilization. · Work closely with application developers and data engineers to support application development and data integration processes. · Identify and resolve database issues promptly, providing support for incident management. · Participate in all Agile ceremonies. Required Skills: Proven experience: · 9+ years’ experience with information systems. · 8+ years’ experience in database administration. · Strong knowledge of database design, development, and administration. (e.g. PostgreSQL). · Experience with data integration tools (e.g. AWS Glue) · Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning techniques. · Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS RDS). · Building strong relationships through Agile team(s) and personal performance · Collaborating in a multiple team environment · Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written. Includes the ability to effectively communicate complex information to audiences with varying technical and system backgrounds and at multiple organizational levels Desired Skills : Experience with: · CMS experience · Supporting client stakeholders with varying levels of Agile experience · Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel Education/Certifications: · Computer Science degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related major Desired (pluses): + Master’s in information systems or computer science + Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
