Short Description:
Database Administrator (DBA) implements, monitors and maintains the enterprise database environment. The primary responsibility for the first six months will be the migration of the legacy systems to SQL server 2012 environment.
Complete Description:
The primary responsibility includes migration of the legacy systems to SQL server 2012 environment. After the migration the DBA will begin more typical DBA duties that will include assisting with application development, support and maintenance initiatives, from a database perspective, and is responsible for database configuration, debugging and optimization activities. The DBA will also be closely involved in the design, implementation, and on-going support of an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
Qualifications
• 3+ years’ experience migrating Legacy DB to SQL Server
• 6+ years’ experience with SQL Server Database Administration (2000/2005/2008 R2 and/or 2012).
• Experience in migration of SQL Server 2000 to 2008R2 and 2012 environment.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems including performance, integrity, blocking and deadlocking and security issues.
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Design and develop data models and database architecture.
• Develop and enhance stored procedures, triggers, functions, views and other database objects.
• Create SSIS packages to load, transform and process data.
• Develop scripts to automate administration and management of the environment.
• Resolve database production issues, code troubleshooting.
• Database tuning and monitoring.
• Create technical specifications and support documentation.
• Able to work in a fast changing environment.
• Research and introduce new database technologies.
• Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
• Experience with SQL Integration Services in order to manage/maintain data warehouse technologies including ETL process.
• Knowledge in creating report using Crystal Reports and SSRS.
