Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to support a major national laboratory. You will provide database administration activities supporting a mix of Relational Database Management Systems for very large datasets and real time data processing.
Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque as the work is completed on site.
Responsibilities Analyze database requirements of assigned projects.Analyze and determine information needs and elements, database relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.Apply knowledge of database management systems to coordinate maintenance and changes to databases.Test and implement changes or new database designs.Write logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access method, and security requirements.Provide direction to programmers and analysts as required to affect changes to database management systems.Provide answers to database questions.Knowledge of and ability to monitor databases and to analyze and organize data and apply new technology designs and programs.Manages and maintains databases of medium to high complexity.Optimizes database configuration and access.Resolves database performance and capacity issues.Performs database recovery and back-up. Qualifications BS/BA in Computer Science or related field and four (4) years related experience. In lieu of a degree 10 years of job related experience is required.U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q/SCI clearanceCandidate must reside in the Albuquerque area, as onsite work is required with possibility of occasional work travelFour (4) or more years of Database Administration (e.g. Data Manager) experience in one or more DBMS platforms, such as Oracle V19-V23Working knowledge of LinuxExperience with Data GuardExperience with data management and analysis approaches for large data sets with an emphasis on real-time data processingAbility to collaborate daily with the various IT technical partnersDesired Skills:
Active US DOE Q Security Clearance or DoD Top Security with reciprocity and be able to obtain a SCI clearanceExperience with MS SQL Server & MySQLExperience with Control-MExperience with ContainerizationBASH & Linux scriptingRelevant application and mission domains (ground systems/data centers/operations centers, remote sensing, sensor technologies, proliferation detection, monitoring and surveillance)About Us:
