Serco is looking for motivated Database Administrator to join our Air Force Depot Maintenance Application Consolidation Team. This individual will use their skills and expertise to perform Database Administration tasks supporting up to 60 Oracle 19c Databases . You will be part of a team comprised of government personnel and contractors that work closely with DISA and other programs to provide quality support and sustainment. Our team has been recognized by the US Air Force as providing top quality services in support of the customers.
This position is hybrid, with 2 days per week in the USAF Kettering office.
In this role, you will:
Provides technical direction for database design, maintenance, and administrationSupports up to 60 Oracle 19c database instances on UNIX platforms, including the development, test, training, and production environments.Using the Unix and SQL command lines, Administer and control the organization’s data resources, including multiple relational databases maintaining more than 200 Oracle and UNIX accounts.Supports application of Oracle Security patches.Creates, upgrades, patches, migrates, configures, refreshes, and backs-up databases on UNIX servers.Derives DDL scripts from a Data Modeling tool, applies it into each database.Develops Shell and Oracle PL/SQL Scripts in accordance with program best practices and coding standardsMaintains version control of database scripts and documentation.Controls the privileges, roles, tables, relationships and all objects in the master schema.Receives, analyzes, integrates, and deploys software packages from up to six application developers into development, test, training and production database environments.Assists Data Modeler in implementing database changes in the model keeping it and the database synchronized.Work collaboratively on Agile teams and can complete user stories independently with minimal oversight and guidance.Develop and manage tasks using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization; contributes to acceptance/functional testing duties and part of incremental feature development.Adhere to, promote, and maintain database standards and best practicesCommunicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders. US CitizenshipBachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field8 years of experienceThe ability to obtain a NACI Clearance, additional background checks required for DBA accessExperience with:Oracle 19cOracle command line administration (v. OEM tools)Unix Shell Scripting Oracle PL/SQL ScriptingApplying Oracle patchesAgile Methodologies (SCRUM, SAFE, SCRUM@SCALE)Atlassian ToolsThe ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ (or higher) within 45 days of start date.The ability to travel up to 10%Additional desired experience and skills:
An active CompTIA Security+ (or higher) certification.
