Database Administrator
Description Primary Responsibilities: Act as the lead technical expert for designing, managing, and documenting databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres), ensuring constant access and system reliability. Protect critical data by implementing strong security protocols, conducting regular backups, and documenting backup and recovery procedures. Enhance database performance and capacity across all environments (production, QA, development), including performing audits to ensure security and performance standards are met. Create SQL procedures for enterprise-level database queries, updates, performance optimization, ETLs, security, and availability. Integrate security measures directly into database designs, manage internal database security, and minimize reliance on third-party solutions, conducting regular security audits to identify areas for improvement. Support system changes, new implementations, and IT budget planning by providing recommendations for database-related hardware, software, and upgrades. Work with IT teams to ensure system integrity, availability, and security, while assisting with internal applications and supporting the AD Public & Private Websites. Manage and archive historical data to optimize performance and improve data management practices. Establish best practices, recommend system improvements, and regularly review and audit database systems for optimization. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least three years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases. Expertise in writing complex SQL queries. Proficient in both Windows and Linux operating systems. Familiarity with ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with database migrations to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle) is a plus.
