Database Administrator
Description We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure to join our client's growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. Also, our ideal candidate will work closely with development teams to support their data needs and contribute to the overall success of our database operations. Responsibilities: + Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases on-premises and in Azure. + Perform database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. + Monitor database performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning solutions. + Ensure database security and data integrity through access control, encryption, and regular backups and restores. + Develop and implement database recovery strategies and disaster recovery plans. + Automate database administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL). + Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schemas and queries. + Stay current on the latest SQL Server and Azure database technologies and best practices. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. + 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on SQL Server. + Proven experience with Microsoft Azure database services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance). + Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and troubleshooting issues. + Experience with database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, security, and performance tuning. + Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL). + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. + Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). + Experience with DevOps practices and tools. + Microsoft certifications related to SQL Server and Azure.
