**The Team**
We are seeking a Database Administrator to join American Tower’s IT Organization. Day-to-day, you will implement, configure, maintain, and be responsible for the performance of critical Enterprise Oracle and SQL Server application and reporting databases. You will partner with the Development and Support teams to design, implement, and maintain enterprise application best practices to allow for resiliency, performance, scalability, and reliability of application suites. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, recovery, database refinement, software installations, resolving errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization in a collaborative manner to support the advancement of enterprise applications, development teams, and business units.
**What You Need to Succeed**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience, required.
+ A minimum 5 years of Database Administration in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases required.
+ Database Administrator or similar experience.
+ Disaster recovery set-up and execution experience preferred.
+ Oracle Cluster File System and Automatic Storage Management experience preferred.
+ Oracle Data Guard set-up, administration, and fail-over procedures experience preferred.
+ Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage technology experience required.
+ Experience with and knowledge of various database architectures and implementation and management of networked database computing structures and applications preferred.
+ Strong document drafting skills.
+ Proficiency with Linux.
+ Proficiency with Oracle Exadata.
+ Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
+ Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
+ Ability to support production environments.
+ Ability to work within performance tuning, using tools for stress testing and building scalable systems.
+ Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) preferred.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
+ Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
+ Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
**What You Can Offer Us**
+ Coordinate and perform the installation and configuration of database management systems and application servers.
+ Assess, manage, and install software patches to Oracle databases in production and development environments.
+ Maintain the security and confidentiality of information accessible on managed systems.
+ Monitor, manage, and resolve incoming Service Desk tickets.
+ Ensure that availability service level agreement targets are met for production applications.
+ Configure and maintain data servers and processes including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
+ Analyze and correct issues in real time, owning problem resolutions from beginning to end.
+ Document database configurations, procedures, and policies.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities, including after hours when needed.
+ Provide trend and growth analyses to assist with capacity planning and resource management.
+ Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
+ Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
+ Evaluate and recommend emerging database technologies and methodologies.
+ Other duties as assigned.
