Role Overview
The database administrators perform basic administration duties using defined procedures under direct supervision of a senior staff. They are responsible for providing standards for databases installation, monitoring, setup, DR solutions, maintenance, backups, recovery, etc. Responsible for testing the standards and working with other teams to implement.
Responsibilities
Research and develop various technologies to drive efficiencies - DB automation, DB storage, etc.
Understand project vision and goals, and design and engineer appropriate solutions
Develop and implement solutions for database sizing/capacity, server requirements and space requirements
Document database development guidelines and standards
Knowledge of HA and DR architecture and solutions for database recovery.
Identifies current initiatives and key issues related to organizational technological policies.
Evaluate the latest versions of RDBMS software
Strong motivation for problem solving, analysis, and testing
Analyzing existing Oracle database implementations
Promoting utilization of new or unused capabilities of Oracle databases to improve performance, scalability and availability
Demonstrable experience improving existing infrastructure
Describes expected benefits of effective organizational IT policies, standards and procedures
Collaborate across the EP function to ensure that standard platforms are best-in-class
Conducting post-mortem analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and prevent recurring issues
Your Profile
Experience with Linux, crontab, and shell scripting
Experience in implementing Observability and Alerting tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk)
Experience with OEM 13c
Experience with Data Guard on Oracle
Oracle DBA experience and knowledge with minimum Oracle 12c to 19c
Working knowledge of MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL
Experience implementing SOP
Experience performing deep-dives towards problem resolution
