JOB DESCRIPTION:
Department of Employment Services (DOES), Office of Information Technology.
The position is responsible for migration, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of DOES application databases including but not limited to SIDES.
The candidate must have a total of 16+ years of experience to meet the master level requirements and to be considered for this position. The position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of database technologies in support of all DOES applications. The Application DBA will be the primary contact person on OWC and other application migrations and modernization efforts. The position is also responsible to creates system specifications, develops database design, tests and implements databases in support of new and existing DOES applications. Other responsibilities include supporting FirstSource developers and super users with database and application related requests including automating tasks that are currently done manually. The candidate needs to have a broad development and administration background to successfully perform tasks and will closely work with SIDES, UI, ESSP and other developers in troubleshooting application related problems and actively engage with them to improve and enhance the systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with developers to continuously improve the security and performance of all Unemployment Insurance and Workers Compensations application.
2. Expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for end user.
3. Participates in short-term tactical and long-term strategic planning of upgrading all applications DOES applications.
