Description Job Title: Junior Data Analyst Location: East Providence, RI. Onsite 2x per week. You must live a commutable distance from the office. Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Analyst with hands-on experience in SQL, Excel, and either COBOL or Mainframe systems. Experience in a COBOL / Mainframe environment is required. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyze, interpret, and provide actionable insights from data, as well as support legacy systems for critical operational processes. Key Responsibilities: + Gather, clean, and analyze data from diverse sources using SQL and Excel to support decision-making processes. + Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights effectively. + Assist with system analysis, troubleshooting, and data maintenance within mainframe environments, leveraging COBOL or comparable experience. + Collaborate with business users and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure data integrity. + Work on improving existing workflows and analytics to optimize task efficiency. + Support legacy systems while contributing to the modernization of reporting and data infrastructure. + Adhere to data governance, privacy, and security standards established within the organization. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: + Experience in a COBOL / Mainframe environment. + Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. + Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis. + Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working within the finance, accounting, or similar industries. + Exposure to or experience with ERP systems and reporting. + Additional programming experience in other languages (e.g., Python, R) considered a plus.
