Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **_Accountabilities_** + Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. + partner with solution architects, application developers, and support teams. Support application releases, Db infrastructure, answer all developer questions, release manager, production deliveries. + Provide Db2 Administrative services to application development team. + Design/develop/test/support Db2 LUW database. + Plan, design, develop, test, and support database systems. + Perform regular database work and maintenance, such as storage management, import, export, load, access control, etc. + Provide technical analysis and recommendations. + System performance tuning and trouble shooting. + SQL performance tuning. + Scripting daily tasks. + Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. + Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. + Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **_Reporting Relationships_** **_Primary Manager:_** + _Senior Manager_ **_Direct Reports:_** + _Senior Manager_ **_Shared Reports (solid/dotted if applicable):_** + _NA_ **_Dimensions_** + Team of ~25 engineers + Canada + Capital budget & annual project cost + 30+ projects / 100+ systems **Education / Experience / Other Information** Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering. Must-to-have: 1) 3+ years of technical working experience as a Db2 LUW DBA supporting development/QA/non-functional testing/production environments within the Financial Industries. 2) 5 + years Hands on Experience of Db2 HADR (High availability disaster recovery) 3) 5 + years SQL Program Language Experience – as team also does development work 4) Strong communication skills 5) Excellent Presentation Skills – able to translate technical standards/practices to customer. 6) Desire to keep up with new technology innovations 7) Team player 8) Excellent problem debugging and resolving skills 9) English level required (B1+ - B2) \# _LI_ - _Hybrid_ Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
