Location: Arlington - Primarily Telework (must be able to work onsite at lest one day a week)

Job Overview: As a Database Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and maintaining databases within the customer. Your responsibilities include optimizing database performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring efficient data storage. This position requires knowledge of best practices in database management and experience in a similar role.
Duties:
Maintaining Existing Database:Enhance the performance of existing database programs.Collaborate with database development teams to design new programs that meet data storage needs.Monitor databases and related systems to ensure optimal performance.Increasing Data Storage Capacity:Write new support programs and scripts to expand data storage capacity.Review database and user reports, as well as system information.Perform debugging procedures and resolve conflicts.
Mentoring and Documentation:Provide technical support to database administrators.Adhere to best practices for securely storing, backing up, and archiving data.Document processes related to database design, configuration, and performance.
Staying Current:Keep abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering.Continuously improve skills in database technologies and architecture. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or a related field.Minimum of 1 year of experience in database engineering.In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).Extensive experience with database technologies and architecture.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.Excellent collaboration and communication skills
