**Description** SAIC is seeking a **(4) Database Engineers** to support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support our applications and services. **There are positions available for 100% remote work or 50% hybrid.** **Job Duties** **:** + Design, develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases to meet the evolving needs of our applications and systems. + Provide support to development teams in database-related matters such as creating complex procedures or tables to view or manipulate the data within the database and return it for development use. + Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning. + Collaborate with team to gather requirements and translate them into database solutions. + Create/update database documentation and support security measures needed within the database. **Qualifications** **Required Education:** + JUNIOR LEVEL – BS degree and two (2) years of experience. + MID LEVEL – BS degree and five (5) years of experience. **Required Skills:** + Experience in SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL programming and scripting. + Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). + Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). + Knowledge of Windows Server environments. + Ability to identify and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues. + Full understanding of the flow down of Interface Design Documents to Database Data Definitions. + Self-reliant to learn and understand new technologies and new features of existing technologies. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. + Good communication and interpersonal skills. **Require** **d Clearance:** + Active Secret Clearance. **Work Environment:** + This position may require on-call availability. + Participation in disaster recovery drills and activities. + Some travel may be required for the purpose of on-site system maintenance and troubleshooting.
