Job Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and migrating databases in a complex, high-availability environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and scalability of our database systems, as well as leading efforts in database migration projects. Database Design & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and data integrity. - Database Migration: Lead and execute database migration strategies, including transitioning databases between on-premise and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Oversee data mapping, data validation, and ensure minimal downtime during migrations. - Performance Tuning & Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize queries, indexes, and overall system architecture for improved database performance. - Backup & Recovery: Establish and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring that data is protected and quickly recoverable. - Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). - Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts for routine database tasks, migrations, backups, and monitoring. - Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and other engineering teams to support database-related requirements and troubleshoot issues. -Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of database architecture, migration processes, and best practices.
