Kforce has a client in Minneapolis, MN that is seeking a Database Migration Specialist to migrate their large, legacy database from DB2 platform to PostgreSQL platform. The Database Migration Specialist would be responsible for assessing the current DB2 environment, designing and implementing the migrating strategy and ensure a smooth transition tpo PostgreSQL environment with minimal downtime. Responsibilities: * Determine a best approach for Database migration, including data conversion, schema changes and any application modifications with stored procedures, functions, etc. * Analyze current query patterns and create an efficient indexing strategy for performance optimization on PostgreSQL * Develop and execute Migration plan * Migrate Database, schemas, data and permissions * Test and validate the migrated database for data consistency, data integrity, schema consistency and application functionality * Troubleshoot, resolve, and document migration issues * Collaborate with Application teams
