Jack in the Box Inc seeks a Database Operations Manager in San Diego, CA. Duties: Maintains an active relationship with application development teams and architecture teams for the purpose of continuously driving efficiency and performance of database platforms. Participates in development of forward-looking strategies for transitioning database infrastructure and support teams to cloud-native solutions. Oversees Service Level Agreements (SLA) for third-party support providers, regularly evaluating performance against established SLAs and holds vendors accountable when contractual obligations are not satisfied. Provides consulting on database technologies and architecture to support programs, projects and initiatives. Closely monitors and responds to operational IT processes (volumes, key performance indicators/metrics, corrective action reporting, performance plans, trends, product content changes, etc.). Assists in the development, communication and management of enterprise technology standards and policies. Effectively communicates plans and activities and develops mutually beneficial working relationships with customer, vendor, and department personnel by utilizing appropriate interpersonal and communication skills. Understands application development needs, sets expectations and monitors and ensures efficiency of internal and/or external service providers. Provides capacity reports on database storage, Input/Output and compute usage as well as trending reports for infrastructure capacity planning. Identifies database risks and proposes alternatives and solutions. Identifies and defines problems, analyzes requirements, evaluates alternatives and makes recommendations to ensure that information systems meet business objectives. Provides support to project managers to ensure the development of quality deliverables are properly planned and delivered. Develops and communicates database architecture standards. Consults with business unit and IT leaders. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field and five years of experience in IT environment including database technologies, database management, or related experience. Position also requires industry-recognized commercial certifications in database technologies including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Certification; Oracle Cloud Data Management Foundations Certification; IBM Data Science - Coursera Certification; and/or Design Thinking for Innovation - Coursera Certification. Wage range $168,000 to $178,000.
