Job Description:

Experienced Database Security Engineer with proven professional experience in the design, implementation, and management/monitoring of database security software and controls in a regulated multi-dataset environment (PII, PHI, FTI).

 

This position is housed under the Office of the Chief Technology Officer in direct support of the DC Access System (DCAS).

 

The Office of the Chief Technology Officer is looking for a Database Security Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring database security architecture, infrastructure, software, tools, and controls. The incumbent will collaborate with other team members to develop security strategies and processes.

 

The incumbent will become an integral part of the DCAS Security Team, making every problem associated to the platform a problem of their own and will demonstrate the required initiative and critical thinking abilities necessary to resolve all problems and challenges accordingly.

 

Based on compliance requirements, and in coordination with the DCAS functional teams (Application Development, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Security), Enterprise Security Team, and customer agencies, the Core duties associated with the role are as follows:

 

•           Lead the design, implementation, and configuration of database security architecture, software, and controls.

•           Design and develop database monitoring and reporting tools.

•           Monitor and report on access to sensitive data, and respond to data breaches accordingly.

•           Develop and maintain configuration management solutions.

•           Create procedures to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure.

•           Other related duties as assigned.

 

This individual will be working closely with the DHS, and its partner agencies to ensure the agencies’ priorities are met. This is a position in the DC Access System (DCAS) project.
