Overview:\n

Semper Valens is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Database Systems Administrator to support the AFINC II contract with the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26NOS). We are seeking an individual for information system administration with a strong cybersecurity knowledge. \n

Responsibilities:\n\nWork within data center operations supporting Windows servers, desktops, Linux systems and various application patching, software version updates, network and security configurations\nAdminister SQL (Structured Query Language) database instances or PostgreSQL to manage and interact with hosted software applications such as SharePoint sites, NetQoS, Cacti, SolarWinds, etc.\nAssist with database administration including design layout, installation, configurations, upgrades, consolidation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance\nConduct database backups and recovery processes\nUse and maintain SQL Server environment technical documentation and system security plans\nInteract with Microsoft SQL database stored products, and desktop applications\nProvision, install, and configure certificate management and maintenance of high availability production and disaster recovery (DR) sites\nAssist with database implementation, security, privileges and regular maintenance tasks\nExecute or improve scripts to automate periodic database management operations\nUtilize Windows automation processes with PowerShell to improve or enhance day-to-day operations to create team efficiencies & reduce manual processes\nProvide a periodic report of system status to include uptime, incident problems or open issues\nRespond to system faults, analyzing and correcting applications or errors to reestablish service\nAid in identifying technical environment issues and recommend solutions to m itigate problems\nPerform administrative work using and installing new and existing physical or web-based database application systems in a smart card Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment\nPro-actively monitor and evaluate performance issues and requests for local and remote data centers\nPerform systems analysis, data administration, security, compliance and maintenance\nAudit, re-mediate, and maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklist documentation on supported systems utilizing technical procedures, best practices, hardening guidance, vendor manuals, user guides and runbooks.\nEvaluate audit scan report data from ACAS Tenable.SC or Tenable Nessus Scanners; participate in the review and response phases of the Vulnerability Management (VM) life cycle\nDevelop and\/or implement technical solutions based on defined mission scope and using approved software tools such as PuTTY, SecureCRT, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), NotePad++, etc.\nEnsures networks receive periodic updates from AFCYBER-released software, patches, firmware, and upgrades via Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO), Maintenance Tasking Order (MTO) and Notices to Airman (NOTAMs)\nAssist AF Cyber personnel with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) programs, cybersecurity toolsets, and Operation Order (OPORD)\/Fragmentary Order (FRAGO) support\n\n

Qualifications\/Requirements:\n\nExperience within DoD environment or enterprise data center desired\nExperience with supporting database servers preferably VMware infrastructure, and\/or backups\nPrefer a minimum of 2+ years of experience with database technologies\nPrefer a minimum of 1-3 years of experience with Windows server environment\nKnowledge of network protocols and technologies: 802.1x, AAA, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, LDAPS, NetFlow, Polling, SCP, SMTP, SNMP, Syslog, TCP\/IP, TLS, VLANs, WinRM, WMI\nExposure to cluster management, high availability methodologies, load balancing traffic management technologies; virtualized environments such as VMware vSphere's vCenter Server Appliance (vCSA), ESXi hosts, virtual machines (VMs), VMTools, Horizon View, and\/or VM\/Host distributed resource schedules (DRS) groups\/rules\nFamiliarity with networking security, desktops\/laptops, middleware, client\/server software\nAbility to utilize Office products (Word Excel, OneNote, Teams, OneDrive, PowerPoint, etc), server operating systems, virtualization, managing data, applications, websites, APIs, or database supporting a multi-site, multi-domain Windows forest\nAptitude for supporting provisional installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of server systems hardware (Dell PowerEdge, HPe ProLiant, etc.), and utilize related infrastructure devices such as KVMs, out-of-band management (OOBM) tools like integrated lights-out (ILO), iLO Amplifier, integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) or Open Managed Enterprise (OME) appliances\nExperience with testing new software technologies in environment with 3rd\u202fparty monitoring tools to track overall health and availability of apps: Splunk Enterprise, SolarWinds Orion platform, McAfee Endpoint Security Systems (ESS), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), WSUS, ForeScout, NAGIOS, Veritas NetBackup, etc.\nSelf-motivated reliable self-starter, able to work autonomously and as part of a team, sharing knowledge to help others in a fast-paced cyber environment\nExperience maintaining, overseeing and troubleshooting computers and related peripheral equipment performing preventative maintenance in accordance with department policies\nAbility to move, lift, rack and provision government furnished equipment (GFE)\n\n

Education\/Certification(s):\n\nTechnical degree, Associates or, bachelor's degree in computer science\/information systems, Science\/Engineering\/Math, or 2- years' relevant experience in Information Technology preferably within system or application administration is acceptable.\n\n

Requires one of the following DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certifications to begin on contract:\n\nCompTIA Security+ CE (Continuing Education)\nCompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) CE (Continuing Education)\n(ISC)\u00b2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)\nGIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)\nGIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)\n(ISC)\u00b2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)\u202f\n\n

Requires one of the following Computing Environment\/Operating System (CE\/OS) certifications to begin on contract:\n

Junior:\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate\n\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals\n\n\nor Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate\n\n

Mid:\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate\n\n\nor Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate\n\n

Clearance:\u202f\n\nActive DoD\u202fSecret\u202frequired or ability to complete investigation process for interim with potential to upgrade to Top Secret clearance preferred.\n\n
