The Data Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of Data Center facilities.
This role involves ensuring the high availability and optimal performance of critical systems, working with a team of technical customers, and coordinating projects that enhance Data Center efficiency and reliability. Key responsibilities include monitoring operational performance, implementing best practices for safety and compliance, and managing customer relationships to ensure effective installation and maintenance of Data Center equipment and resources.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of networking and server technology, and the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions.
A background in IT infrastructure management and experience with regulatory compliance standards are essential for success in this role. This position requires excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to support organizational goals and safeguard sensitive data effectively.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Data Center, ensuring its reliability, security, and efficiency.
Work with mission partners’ requirement managers and engineers, and translate requirements to ensure that the design plans are implemented accurately and efficiently.
Deploy and maintain servers, switches, and storage equipment in racks; un-racking equipment and racking replacements.
Effectively and professionally communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers at all levels of seniority.
Create block diagrams, rack elevations, equipment inventory, run lists, power floor plans, and network identification.
Rack equipment (rack prep, power prep)
Run fiber, copper, TwinAx, and power.
Build cable tray infrastructure to support cables.
Can diagnose infrastructure issues, and work with building trades for electrical and cooling issues
Manage the integrations of incident and problem tickets.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with asset tagging and the Data Center inventory management across multiple customers
Manage and coordinate the planning and implementation of Data Center services including network, rack placement power circuits, heat containment, and ensuring they adhere to operational standards.
Improve operational process and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
7 years experience or 11 years experience instead of a Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software
Experience with Data Center environment space planning, electrical, HVAC
Can work Daytime hours (9 am – 5 pm), Monday-Friday onsite, and be available for on-call support. Nights and weekends may be required occasionally to meet mission partners' needs.
Lift 60 – 90 pounds and ability to move equipment.
Desired Qualifications:
Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP)
Data Center Operation Manager (DCOM)
Comp TIA Security+, Network+
Exhibits knowledge of the ServiceNow ITAM process
Knowledge of CAT6, OM 3, OM 4, and MPO cables.
Possesses an understanding and knowledge of the difference between single and multi-mode fiber

The proposed salary range for this position is:
