The Capacity Management Team is part of Data Center Operations - they are responsible for finding resources that they can game back (servers, data racks, virtual infrastructure) where ever they can get some CPU Memory back
Intake Team
Liaison between the requester of hardware in the data center and the actual people working in the data center.
They make sure the request is completely ready before it gets to the data center team
Cable diagrams are there
Storage and network team has been communicated with
Once they believe it's fully ready to be implemented they get the ticket entered for the data center team
Example of what's going on - Hardware Intake -
Customer comes with a project (ideally 6months in advance) where they need new hardware added into the datacenter. The process is called hardware readiness. They meet w/ the data center team as well as the requestor to verify everything is requested/set up that is needed to implement. One thing they are lacking on or watching is the power backup.
