About the Role:
\nPitchBook’s Dataset Team Lead manages a team of Data Operations Associates, Sr. Associates, and Leads. They work to improve and validate the data being utilized in the PitchBook Platform. The Dataset Team Lead is responsible for the operations of specific datasets, ensuring the data meets PitchBook’s high quality standards while continually increasing the efficiency, productivity, and data integrity of their team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
\n\nManage and drive the operations of a team to continuously improve the quality and quantity of data in the PitchBook platform\nEnsure all new team members are successfully onboarded\nMaintain a regular cadence of 1:1s with each team member to recap performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support career development\nBe the authoritative point person on your dataset; demonstrating exceptional knowledge of PitchBook products, our industry, and client base\nResponsible for compiling market intelligence on the competitive position of all datasets under your purview and driving internal communication of those findings throughout the organization\nGather team feedback and utilize PowerBI reports to identify root causes of systemic data problems and drive operational, methodology, and Database optimization\nWork closely with our Data Operations team in Mumbai, London, New York and Seattle coordinating workflow operations for all datasets under your purview to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met across all processes\nPartner with your Operations Manager to provide support, communication, and updates for all datasets under your purview across PitchBook departments\nDemonstrate expert knowledge in one of PitchBook’s core research areas of private equity, venture capital, M&A, or institutional investors by researching, collecting, and entering data for all datasets under your purview into the Research Tool Suite (RTS)\nMaintain up-to-date documentation of relevant research processes, training materials, methodologies, and Research Tool Suite tool changes\nParticipate in recruiting and hiring efforts, including phone screens and on-site interviews\nLeverage our in-house database, business intelligence reports, and other technology-based tools to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently while adhering to complex research tracking methodologies to ensure that data is of the utmost quality\nResponsible for maintaining a standardized monthly/quarterly business review for all datasets under your purview\nRoll out methodology updates and process changes/improvements with necessary documentation\nProvide training and ramping support to new members of the team, both locally and abroad\nMaintain accountability for the client request pipeline for all datasets under your purview\nRegularly collaborate with the broader organization to develop and improve processes, tools, and methodologies, identifying and driving opportunities to improve upon the core quality metrics (comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness)\nCommunicate effectively and efficiently with your team and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address roadblocks, and celebrate wins\nSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors \nParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested \n\n

Skills and Qualifications:
\n\nBachelor’s degree\n2+ years of previous experience in operations, program, or process management\nDemonstrated ability to provide support and mentor junior team members\nExemplary verbal and written communication skills; comfortable to engage a diverse array of audiences\nAbility to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results\nSelf-motivated and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team\nAbility to interface with clients to support our Sales and Customer Success teams as needed\nInterest in financial markets or services, particularly private equity and venture capital\nAnalytical and process-oriented with a dedication to continuous improvement\nAbility to problem solve and use judgment to make decisions within ambiguous research situations\nApproach each task with an entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual curiosity\nStrong organization skills with attention to detail\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily \n\n\n

Working Conditions:
\nWe believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
\nThe job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
