Day Care Director
Day Care Director Are you a nurturing leader with a passion for early childhood education? We’re looking for a Day Care Director to inspire and guide our vibrant community of young learners! Must posses New York State Office of Children and Family Services Qualifications to be Director of Site. Qualifications include: Minimum of one to two years experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field work (dependent on Education credentials) AND Minimum of one to two years of full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program. Education required varies with the minimum being an Associate's degree in Early Childhood or related field with a plan of study leading to: a bachelor's degree or a NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential. Please check the New York State website for specific qualifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: •Supervises, trains, counsels and evaluates all subordinates. •Ensures compliance of all subordinates to both company and departmental policies and procedures. •Possess the ability to create operating and capital budgets along with the ability to adhere to those budgets. •Responsible for creating developing and implementing an effective strategy of organization within the Day Care, setting objectives for future growth. •Ensure a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children. •Manage and coordinate curriculum with staff that complies with state and federal requirements. •Inspect Facility for Maintenance. •Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment and supplies. •Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development. •Ensure all certificates/licenses/equipment are current and maintained. •Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures. •Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center’s policies. •Interview, Hire, Coach, and Counsel Staff. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises the activities of all Associates in the Day Care. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree or higher required. Master's Degree is preferred. Strong customer service background. Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. Strong background in management with 5 years of experience in a Day Care setting required.
