Are you looking for an entry-level, handyperson position? In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of County facility and grounds. You will help to maintain the cleanliness, functionality, safety, and security of the facility. The ideal candidate possesses basic knowledge and is semi-skilled in performing light to heavy manual labor. The pay starts out at $16.50/hr (step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for advancement. Apply today!
+ Check and clean facilities and exterior grounds, and pick up debris/litter from around buildings, parking lots, and dumpster areas.
+ Sweep or blow off sidewalks/walkways around buildings.
+ Empty exterior trash receptacles as needed.
+ General cleaning of building interiors including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash receptacles, and surface cleaning.
+ Secondary restroom check/cleaning and ensure disposable supplies are adequately stocked.
+ Perform building safety checks and report all unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
+ Communicate with internal and external customers, Building Superintendents, and supervisors.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or its equivalent.
+ Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.
CJIS Clearance: **The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay: $16.87 (Step 1) Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.
