Job Description
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the manufacturing process. This role involves reading, interpreting, and reviewing job routers and blueprints, verifying and inspecting parts using precision measuring instruments, and documenting inspection findings. The inspector will work closely with machinists, shop foreman, and the shipping department to meet customer delivery dates and maintain up-to-date calibration records.
ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret, and review job routers and blueprints.Verify and inspect parts using precision measuring instruments, CMMs, and gauges.Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure parts.Document inspection findings and create inspection reports when required by the customer.Work closely with machinists to compare measurements.Collaborate with the Shop Foreman, Operational Excellence Manager, and Shipping Dept regarding scheduling to meet required customer delivery dates.Confirm the calibration of all instruments used for inspection and maintain up-to-date calibration records.Call for repairs or outside calibration of equipment when needed.Monitor the use of calibrated equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements.Identify and quarantine non-conforming parts, and notify the Quality Manager of incorrect parts.Assist the Quality Manager in determining the cause of non-conformance.Operate overhead cranes and/or pallet jack for material handling when needed, following appropriate safety training.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED.Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Experience working in a machine shop environment.Experience working with tight tolerances.Experience inspecting different size parts daily.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience using a CMM system.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a custom machine shop operating as a job shop, not production. The position is on the first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the option to work until 4:30 pm if desired. Flexibility on start times is available to accommodate personal needs such as childcare, and occasional Saturdays may be required. The environment is supportive of work-life balance and flexibility.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $83200.00
the company has great benefits: $15 for single plan, $32 for family of two and $45 for a family. They also give a Christmas bonus each year. 11 PAID HOLIDAYS.
