We are now hiring for a Full Time Day Surgery Assistant at our Boise Regional Medical Center (I-184 and Curtis Road)!
Position Summary & Highlights:The Day Surgery Assistant will support the Day Surgery staff by preparing and picking surgery case carts, maintain and transport supplies and equipment, and provide housekeeping services.

Our dedicated team of surgeons utilize the most advanced technology to deliver the highest quality of care for all types of patients including the critically ill and injured with the only Level II Trauma Center in the region.
What You Will Do:You will support staff by preparing surgery case carts that include all necessary surgery supplies, suture, and equipment based on surgeon's preference.
Clean and turnover operating rooms including all equipment, bed, floor, appliances, and overhead lights in the surgery suites or that were used on the particular cases.
Provide anesthesia support services under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist and manager and clean and check instruments and machines according to procedures.
Coordinate periodic maintenance with Bio-Med department according to policy.
Retrieve, clean, assemble, and sterilize re-usable patient care equipment and surgical instrumentation.
Transport supplies, specimens, x-rays, blood products, and beds.
Provide necessary articles for transport, including oxygen tanks, monitors, patient charts, documents, and supplies, and transport recovery beds or patient beds to appropriate rooms.
Provide direct, high quality service to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and anesthetists. Respond promptly and accurately to physician and anesthetist direction.
Ensures that all Quality Assurance documentation is completed to meet the standards of sterilization and JCAHO requirements.
An ideal candidate will be dependable, have strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:This position is a full time position scheduled for 36 hours a week.
Day Surgery Assistants work Monday – Thursdays, either 4:30am – 2:30pm or 8:00am – 6:30pm.
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in a hospital anesthesia, operating rooms or sterile processing departments desirable.
Experience working in housekeeping, or surgery transportation helpful.
