The Danaher Business System Leader is responsible for all DBS activities in Operations at Tsukuba site. In this role, you will be the active driver of operational performance and innovation, and you will be measured on these metrics. You will engage with the relevant Functional leaders to: identify and continuously improve operation processes where performance improvements are required; drive a DBS mindset and ensure an appropriate foundation of DBS skills in the organization; and provide coaching and training to people leaders and associates as they enable process improvements and sustain their results using DBS tools, analytics, and improved performance reporting. For successful leaders, this role has runway to more senior leadership opportunities.

This position is part of Nihon Pall Manufacturing Ltd.  based in Tsukuba, Japan, and also dotted line reporting to Danaher Business Office Asia.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools as an active Leader in PD and Daily Management reviews. Be an active Leader in PD and DM reviews (as appropriate). Assist site / company Leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu or other).Lead, facilitate, coordinate and manage the annual Kaizen Events at the plant.Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them.Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership.Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with 10+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 8-10 yearsJapanese and English communication skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening)Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and leading a team in Operations, Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain environmentVery customer focused and has strong interpersonal and communications skills.  Deep knowledge in Manufacturing across different industriesExtensive experience in driving cross-functional improvements using DBS, Lean Production, or other continuous improvement tools.Knowledge of DBS tools, Lean Production or Lean Six Sigma

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations. Results orientation - must deliver results
