The Distribution Center Robotics Technician will service, maintain, and repair robotics and automated production systems used in the DC for picking, packing, sorting, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOversee the configuration and operation of automated systems within the distribution center.
Inspect, clean, repair, and maintain robotic machinery and equipment to ensure full functionality.
Calibrate equipment accordingly to achieve maximum results.
Test and run diagnostics to evaluate system efficiency.
Detect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement solutions.
Align, fit, or assemble parts or devices, using hand tools, power tools, etc.
Install new robotic systems or parts based on operating specifications.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates properly to meet safety regulations and standards.
Maintain detailed documentation and instructions for maintenance and repairs performed.
Maintain supply inventory and order and source replacement parts, sensors, cables, etc.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership, DC team members, and internal/external partners in regards to robotics equipment.
Maintain thorough knowledge of the automation within the DC and identify application opportunities.
Travel as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
1+ vocational or technical certification in AS/RS, AGV, AMR, or related automation
3+ years experience in automation, robotics, or related field
Previous experience in a similar production environment with an emphasis on electronics, mechanics, or programming
Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose complex problems within automated systems
Ability to learn automation of new technologies and pursue any necessary continued learning or certifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to work with high motivation and limited supervision
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts in business terms at all organizational levels
Desired:Technical certification in AS/RS, AGV, AMR
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
