DC Human Resources Specialist

Provide human resources support to DC management, DC Human Resources Business Partner (DCHRBP), and DC team members. Collaborate with the DCHRBP with recruitment initiatives, screening applicants, and completion of new hire paperwork. Assist with new team member orientation and benefit education classes. Provides team member relations support, and collaborate with DC leadership on other duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Track and maintain emergency contact information, team member listings, turnover reports, etc.

Copy and distribute phone lists for supervisors, corporate information listings, employee evacuation lists, status changes, and various other documents.

Assure proper phone coverage at all times for the human resources office, and provide telephone coverage for the DCHRBP and DC manager as needed.

Order, distribute, and process the billing information for uniform shirts for DC team members and supervisors.

Generate and prepare monthly evaluation reports, for all DC team members on their scheduled date, and distribute to supervisors to ensure all evaluations are completed in a timely manner.

Schedule interviews, prescreen applicants, track drug screens, assist in recruiting efforts, and utilize outside vendors to process reference checks for future team members.

Process new hire paperwork, including assisting with new hire data entry into the Company system, create team member badges, and prepare new hire orientation materials.

Provide support to team members as needed, including answering and researching questions related to benefits and benefit enrollment, uniforms, or any other human resource and team member relations related questions.

Coordinate team member activities and team member goodwill projects, including Why We Work Safe program.

Attend Town Hall and Safety Committee meetings and support the DCHRBP with writing meeting minutes and distribute the approved minutes to committee members and supervisors. Prepare submissions for the DC FYI newsletter.

Support the DCHRBP with investigation protocols, including collection of team member statements and incident background information.

Provide support with the annual wage survey process.

Assist with workman’s compensation paperwork and team member follow-up.

Participate in DC Audit including Powered Industrial equipment documentation and Employment and Safety posters.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

1+ year of office or human resources experience

Proficient computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), ten-key, data entry, and typing

Excellent at detailed work with above average skills in areas of written and verbal communication

Must be able to multitask and work well in a team environment

Excellent customer service skills

Desired:

2-3 years of office or human resources experience

Prior understanding of basic HR laws and procedures

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
