DC Materials Handler - Returns

Perform one or more warehouse duties such as the unloading, reboxing, or checking involved in the processing of all inbound returns and outbound merchandise to vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Unload various types of merchandise from Ozark route trucks and place them in the designated staging areas. Verify what is unloaded by matching the drivers manifest to the merchandise.

Assist in the wrapping, loading, and shipping of outbound merchandise.

Verify the store manifest, scan and inspect appropriate merchandise from a store’s return. Separate all return merchandise to the appropriate staging areas after scanning and process exceptions in the correct manner.

Correctly sort and neatly stack all checked-in rebuilt core and rebuilt warranty into the designated areas.

Follow proper procedures for staging, cut-offs, auditing, and preparing product for shipping.

Sort and prepare new merchandise for shipment to proper zones.

Maintain and rebox any new merchandise received.

Maintain inventory and order boxes used for specific lines.

Follow procedures for adding reboxed parts to inventory by observing correct cut-off procedures.

Maintain and sort warranty merchandise into vendor bins. Work with vendor representatives coordinating all paperwork and product in processing warranties. Maintain vendor representative files and a warranty schedule.

Move merchandise and paperwork to the RGS clerk in a timely manner.

Dispose of HazMat chemicals and oil according to company policy.

Process all recall, changeover, and stocklift merchandise.

Process all non-stocks from main and remote DC’s and all unsaleable.

Maintain tag shelf (where applicable).

Work with O’Reilly sales regarding all demo, used, and loaner equipment including all credits, billing, and RGS’ for shipping.

Test warranty batteries and process the correct paperwork.

Process all new and rotation batteries from the stores and recondition batteries as needed and send to stock.

Perform monthly rotations on DC stock and process correct paperwork. Complete all monthly battery reports.

Prepare and/or match up all paperwork needed for RGS merchandise, call truck lines and prepare shipment. Maintain all RGS merchandise is properly packed, weighed, loaded, and shipped to vendors then complete and turn in all paperwork for correct disposition.

Keep all work areas neat and clean.

Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.

Team members with experience may be designated as trainers. As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete. Explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Ability to read and match numerical and alphabetical characters quickly and accurately

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills

Desired:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Working knowledge of the automotive warehouse and/or store industry

Familiarity with automotive parts

Advanced computer skills

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
