Job Summary
The DC Shipper is responsible for accurate and efficient pallet preparation of company-wide outbound orders from the Distribution Center of Natural Grocers. This position combines orders from multiple departments, wraps and loads finished pallets onto trucks, prepares bills of lading, and communicates loads with carriers and store managers.

Combines finished orders from various departments and prepares pallets for shippingDistributes produce bags, office supplies, fliers and other promotional items to storesPrepares, wraps and stages pallets for designated routes Provides accurate and timely notification to carriers for pallet pick-upPrepares Bills of Lading for each load; loads trucksCommunicate with carriers and store managers to arrange for special deliveriesWorks with managers and DC staff to maintain shipping accuracyReceives, stores, and distributes cross-dock products as neededKeeps record of outbound orders and completes and files shipping logsLoads recycle pallet trailers and schedules pick-up of trailersKeeps the dock area clean and organized, logs and files daily housekeeping recordsAssists with pulling orders in Bulk and Grocery departments as neededPerforms all tasks in a manner that promotes safetyPerforms all tasks in compliance with Food Safety standards

Strong understanding of warehouse functions with previous experience requiredMust have current valid Colorado driver license Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and concisely requiredExperienced forklift operation required (must be certified) includes electric pallet jack and extended reach truck preferredStrong time management skills requiredAbility to multi-task, with strong attention to detail; accuracy and thoroughness is a mustFlexibility with working hours to accommodate warehouse needsAble to work both independently and as part of a team Able to assist in other departments as needed

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to constantly use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.
Must be able to constantly sit, use fine motor manipulations, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
Must be able to frequently grip, bend, twist, and turn.
Must be able to occasionally walk, stand, squat, kneel, and reach above chest as needed.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to work occasionally with cold, heat, sharp tools and equipment, noise, contact stress, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
