Deal Sourcing Lead
*

Responsible for identifying, assessing, and recommending strategic closeout/off-price inventory opportunities and supports the execution of approved buys. Fosters enduring partnerships and cultivates meaningful vendor relationships to position the company as a priority contact for the disposition of inventory. Serves as liaison between vendors and internal cross-functional teams to ensure efficient deal execution.

1.    Maintains existing and cultivates new vendor relationships to build long-term partnerships and positions the company as a priority contact for end-user inventory monetization.
2.    Analyzes deals and assists in building offers for closeouts, liquidations, and bank inventory deals, engaging in negotiations and ensuring favorable terms and opportunity to scale.
3.    Maintains and assists in managing the deal pipeline for the sourcing team and works with vendors continuously to grow the deal pipeline to achieve teams’ financial targets.
4.    Develops and nurtures relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
5.    Continuously collaborates with merchandising and leadership teams to present & finalize deals.
6.    Meets regularly with internal buying teams to compile a list of extreme value deals and coordinates efforts of cross-functional business partners to ensure efficient and timely deal execution.
7.    Ensures timely response to all vendors on deals presented and develops a long-term relationship to ensure ongoing deal flow.
8.    Assists in maintaining periodic deal pipeline reporting and clearly presents challenges, remediation recommendations, benefits of remediation, and resources needed to ensure continuous improvement on the deal procurement process.
9.    Assists in refining the deal intake, deal presentation and pipeline reporting process to ensure an optimal and speedy response on all deals.

1.    Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
2.    Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; minimum of 3 years of sourcing or retail buying experience preferred.
3.    Experience with off-price retail, liquidations, or reverse logistics buys preferred.
4.    Ability to turn potential leads into concrete economic opportunities.
5.    Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills with an entrepreneurial mindset and a penchant for innovation.
6.    Understanding of the retail business, with a keen eye for spotting market trends and opportunities.
7.    Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills required.
8.    Systems capable with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
9.    Ability to travel by air and overnight to domestic destinations required.
