Dealer School Interviews will take place 01/14/2024, 01/15/2024 & 01/16/2024

SUMMARY

Learn to deal assigned games and control pace of game. Adhere to game protection and Grand Sierra Resort dealing procedures. Will be taught how to handle all bets on assigned games. Recover customer losses and pay winners with Casino gaming chips. Mentally perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately while game is in progress.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Deal assigned games and control pace of game. Adhere to game protection and Grand Sierra Resort & Casino dealing procedures. Handle all bets on assigned games. Recover customer losses and pay winners with Casino gaming chips. Mentally perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately while game is in progress. Deal cards and/or gaming chips to customers at various points around the table, reach for and collect bets and cards during game or at end of hand. Protect assigned game, while providing good customer service. Read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and fellow employees. Interact with co-workers and customers in a professional and polite manner. Monitor and maintain the integrity of the game. Adhere to all game controls and procedures (as outlined in the dealer and supervisor department manual). Mentally perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately to calculate change and winning payoffs during live game. Give markers when instructed to do so. Collect losing bets and pay winning bets. Comply with all State gaming rules and regulations. Have good working knowledge of regulation 6-A.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and fellow employees. Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts. Candidate must have strong mathematical abilities and skill. Be willing to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification. (Nevada Gaming Control Board Gaming work Permit). Solves practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age with a current, gaming license. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. Trusted and is seen as a truthful individual who is highly respectful of others. Consistently exhibits courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and presents information in a concise and understandable format. Cooperate with others in the accomplishment of joint tasks and common objectives. Contributes to a positive work environment, fosters collaboration and provides a tangible contribution. Meet requirements of regular attendance in order to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, team members and others.  Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
