Dealer Trainee

Learn how to be a Table Games Dealer and get paid while doing it!!

* Prior to being accepted into Dealing School, the candidate must participate in a customer service focused interview to determine eligibility, and meet applicable requirements of the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) *

No previous experience/training necessary for this opportunity. Classes are 6 week long / 4 hours per day Class schedule:      Tuesday - Friday 10am -2pm,       Friday - Monday 2pm -6pm  Class starts on October 22, 2024 This is a paid trainee position for newly hired Team Members.

Reporting to the Table Games Training Supervisor, the Table Games Dealer Trainee is hired to attend Dealing School to learn the table games business, starting with Craps and must be able to pass the audition to obtain a Table Games dealer position.

This is a part-time position solely for the purpose of attending the Dealing School; and is not to exceed 90 days in this role (absent extenuating circumstances).

Upon completion of the Dealing School, the Table Games Dealer Trainee will participate in an audition to determine if they will be offered a Part-Time Table Games Dealer position.  

Essential Job Functions:

Deliver great customer service by learning core games offered by Harrah’s Joliet in a friendly and helpful manner with an upbeat/positive attitude Learn how to deal games in accordance with internal controls, Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) regulations, and company policy Learn how to demonstrate an effective working knowledge of dealing policies and gaming procedures Able to learn applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics Learn protection and control of the game Learn how to exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner Always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same Presents oneself in a polished, professional, and service-minded way and encourages others to do the same Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED is required Must be at least 21 years of age Excellent customer service skills are essential Must be able to perform basic math quickly Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team Must present a well-groomed appearance Well-developed interpersonal skills Must enjoy entertaining and communicating with the public; ability to speak distinctly and persuasively Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts or stressful customer interactions Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives

Job Demands:

Must be able to work independently Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (minimum 4 hours) Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when addressing conflicts Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and respond to visual and aural cues Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
