Job Summary
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead an amazing team whose focus is on the wellbeing of a great liberal arts campus? Grinnell College is looking for you to become our next Dean of Health and Wellness. Due to a retirement, the college is looking for a candidate to build upon the excellent work of the previous Dean and sustain the vision for student health and wellness on campus. They will provide overall direction for an integrated health and wellness center which includes mental health counseling, health services, tele-psychiatry, and wellness promotion. Reporting to the Associate VP of Student Affairs, this role will work cross-functionally and divisionally to advance goals and initiatives that contribute to student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
+ Create and sustain health and wellness vision
+ Provide overall direction to an integrated student health and wellness operation
+ Serve as a senior leader within the division of Student Affairs representing the department on committees
+ Oversee and implement policies and procedures to govern medical and mental health care
+ Provide direct supervision of Student Health and Wellness leadership
+ Provide occasional direct clinical care for students in emergent or triage situations; consult in an on-call capacity for deans on call.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Doctoral degree or equivalent in Counseling psychology or a related field
+ Licensed mental health practitioner or the like
+ 7 years or more of professional experience which may include internship
+ Actively champions diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and initiatives
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, faculty, and campus staff to support students.
+ Flexibility and adaptability in the ever-changing daily lives of students
+ Demonstrated ability to plan and organize
