Dean of Nursing and Allied Health
Position Purpose:
The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, plans, directs, and coordinates academic operations of the College of Nursing. The Dean is directly responsible to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. The Dean advises the President on academic affairs and is the spokesperson for the faculty, program leaders, academic support structures with regards to academic and continuing education offerings, budget proposals, and academic policies. The Dean provides management and strategic direction for advancing continuous improvement initiatives. Develops and implements strategic and operational plans in partnership with President, Program Directors, Student Affairs and Finance and aligns with institutional priorities/initiatives. Accountable for academic performance and quality, and compliance. Ensures effective operation of academic departments, resource management, system changes, faculty and Staff development, and continuous improvement. Supports the college President in accomplishing organizational strategy and goals. Builds critical, strategic relationships with internal (i.e., faculty, students, staff) and external (i.e., community members, alumni, MCHS and other strategic partners) stakeholders as appropriate. Serves as the chief executive office of the College in the President’s absence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Earned Doctorate in nursing or related discipline with master’s degree in nursingLicense / Certification: Current RN license in OhioMinimum 24 months experience as Faculty in a pre-licensure RN program.Demonstrated academic leadership experience; Teaching experience in undergraduate/graduate nursing programs; Must qualify for faculty appointment.Position Highlights and Benefits:
