We are currently looking for a Debt Capital Markets Loan Syndications Associate - CRE (Commercial Real Estate) focus to join our team in Houston, TX or El Segundo, CA.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for assisting the Loan Syndications Group with all aspects of the deal syndication process.
Support senior members of the Loan Syndications Group and/or bankers in commercial banking, commercial real estate or other specialty lending business units in the origination and execution of syndicated lending opportunities.
Review recent deals in the market and identify potential investors.
Compose and/or review various internal memos required to support syndicated transactions (syndication opinions, fee accounting, etc.)
Prepare and/or review marketing materials and maintain current templates for such materials.
Assists with the preparation and negotiation of legal documents such as fee letters, non-disclosure agreements, mandate agreements, commitment letters, credit agreements, etc.
Coordinate closing activities with third-party lenders, business units and internal functional areas.
Maintain and/or review various databases and reports for submission.
Maintain external data sites and composing/reviewing associated communications with third-party lenders.
Attend offsite meetings with borrowers and third-party lenders, and coordinates follow up activities (documenting lender feedback, tracking market data points, etc.)
Track, answer or coordinate answers to deal questions from third-party lenders in consultation with senior members of the Loan Syndications Group and relevant business units.
Research and track market trends, comparable transactions, and third-party lender activities and credit appetite.
Assist with the development and training of junior staff.
Supports internal Relationship Managers on prospective syndicated loan deals and assists in reviewing new lead opportunities.
Assists with drafting offering memoranda, proposals and financial presentations detailing client and transaction-related fundamental information including merits, risk and risk mitigation.
Prepares loan marketing packages for distribution to investors.
Administers and launches data room site for active deals where Zions is the agent bank where all other involved financial groups can review the information for the deal.
Keeps active templates for marketing materials and offers memorandums with current information on both Zions and the market.
Actively sources loan market data and maintain database of comparable transactions and competitors.
Maintains database and reports for submission to senior management.
Stays current on market data, particularly in the Bank's areas of industry focus.
Maintains relationships with investors and keeps an internal database of all participating financial institutions.
Some travel required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or a related field and 4+ years of related experience. Commercial real estate experience in the financial services industry preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement. MBA, CFA and/or Formal Credit Training with equivalent background a plus.
FINRA Series 79 (or grandfathered Series 7), Series 63 will be required.
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $109,600 - 150,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and the Bank's overall performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here
