Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Decedent Affairs Coordinator to join the team!: This role will be Full Time, Monday-Friday with occasional weekend days will be required, 8:30am-4:30pm.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years) Years of Experience: Two years of experience in healthcare, social work or science field settingJob Responsibilities
Documents information in support of complex case management. Manages the Decedent Affairs process and communicates information to the Decedent Affairs team. Makes determinations on each death and reports all appropriate deaths to the County Medical Examiner and/or State Medical Examiner in accordance with state laws. Manages the activities of patient deaths from the time of death to the final disposition of remains. Performs critical identification functions to ensure the right body goes to the right funeral home. Acting as gatekeeper for morgue admissions/removals while ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission and Red Rules requirements to reduce the legal liability of the hospital. Other duties as assigned.
