Department Summary:
MTIRE’s Acquisition Strategy and management (L211) Department, as part of the Cost, Acquisition, and Management Sciences (CAMS) Division, provides acquisition, procurement, and contracting Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) for the design, solicitation, award, administration, and closeout of MITRE Sponsor mission-critical requirements. The talent and skillsets of L211 SME’s deliver unique and mission-critical procurement expertise across six (6) of MITRE’s Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs): 1) Healthcare, 2) Justice, 3) Department of Defense, 4) Intelligence, 5) Veteran Affairs and 6) Homeland Security. This specialized role enables L211 to support both MITRE internally, and the entire Federal government landscape (Defense, Intelligence, and Civilian) based on our ever-evolving capabilities, knowledge, research, and technology development. This work is championed by our SME’s that create timely delivery of comprehensive, holistic, and leading-edge acquisition, procurement, and contracting solutions through collaboration (e.g., cost analysts, enterprise architects, cyber experts) solving complex challenges daily.

Championing research and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related technologies based on how it’s currently and will impact acquisition, procurement, and contracting moving forward through both internal MITRE efforts Sponsor partnerships.Supporting US national security efforts in the areas of health, defense, information technology, and space through our work with the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), and Space ForceCultivating innovation in Federal procurement and acquisition through new approaches such as MITRE’s Challenge-based Acquisition (ChBA), which promotes increased government and industry collaboration, cultivates innovation solutions into the federal landscape, and enables the government to leverage industry’s broad experiences across a solution space resulting in more impactful procurement outcomes for our sponsors and a cultural change that permeates future acquisitions and approaches.Roles and Responsibilities:

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.Experience as a U.S. Government Contracting Officer or Contracting Specialist (FAC-C or DAWIA) or Program Office Procurement Officials (FAC-COR, FAC-P/PM or DAWIA), Certifications are desired but not requiredWorking knowledge and experience with US government acquisition, procurement, and contracting processes, policies, and proceduresAbility to work as either an independent performer and as part of a teamDemonstrated skills and experience in presenting data both verbally and in writingThis position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-sitePreferred Qualifications:
