Defined Benefit Pensions Sales Leader, Mercer Wealth

What can you expect:

Working as part of Mercer UK’s Wealth business, this is an exciting, challenging and demanding role, which will require the candidate to create a pipeline of sales opportunities from a combination of initiatives, some self-developed, others instigated by the wider business

You will need to have the ability to network effectively, being adept at building and developing relationships from new contacts and develop your own opportunities from cold prospects

You will be required to take complex solutions from the Defined Benefit Pensions market to prospects

We will count on you to:

Create and manage client prospect pipeline to ensure a sufficient level of sales opportunities to deliver required revenue for the wealth business through Defined Benefit opportunities

Create sales opportunities from company-sponsored marketing events (seminars, workshops, social media campaigns etc.)

Devise, plan and set strategy for sales related activities

Undertake initial “first” meetings with prospects

Convert prospect meetings into sales opportunities

Manage and develop the relationship with prospects  

Maintain knowledge and awareness of industry developments with a focus on DB issues

Interact effectively with Bid, Proposition and marketing team to maximise successful sales

What you need to have: 

Proven sales experience within Financial or Professional Services

A consultative sales approach

Proven ability to develop and initiate strategies for revenue and client account growth

Strong understanding of sales and business acumen

Ability to build, maintain, and effectively manage a sales pipeline

Accurately forecast sales results

What makes you stand out:

Degree level and/or professional / sales industry qualification

Proven track record of devising, adapting and successfully implementing sales plans for defined benefit pension schemes
