Job Summary

Reports To: Deli Manager
Under the direction of the Deli Department Manager, responsible for working closely with all Deli Service Counter associates in an effort to keep the service counter stocked, full of fresh product.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Leads, supports and reinforces Festival culture, guest service and performance expectations
+ Maintains adequate staff levels by partnering with Human Resources Manager interviewing applicants and extending job offers to qualified candidates
+ Responsible for the thorough and consistent training and leadership of new Deli associates
+ Responsible for completion of weekly associate evaluation of company standard in guest service expectations (Ten Tile)
+ Provides exceptional services to all guests and leads by example amongst team
+ Assists guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor
+ Answers the telephone and assists guests using proper phone etiquette
+ Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received, if in need further assistance, bring concern to Deli Manager
+ Manages presentation of service case, ensuring consistent product attractiveness
+ Manages service counter inventory and temperature logs
+ Assists all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example
+ Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by sanitizing, organizing work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed
+ Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% at 10AM and 5PM
+ Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
+ Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

+ High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ 3+ of leadership experience (at least 1 years as manager) - retail or restaurant preferred
+ Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
+ Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
+ Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
+ Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler
+ Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
+ Full range of upper body motion
+ Must be able to work at a fast pace
+ May be exposed to extreme temperatures
WORK SCHEDULE
+ The Deli Service Counter Manager is a full time, hourly position
+ The shift to be worked may be a morning shift, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
